The NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U is a 92mm size premium quality quiet CPU cooler for workstations and servers based on AMD Threadripper and Epyc processors that utilise TR5/SP6 sockets (sTRX5/sWRX9). Built on the proven basis of the DX model with its dual tower heatsink and full-cover contact surface, the TR5-SP6 revision employs two of Noctua’s award-winning, PWM controlled NF-A9 PWM 92mm fans in their higher speed variant in order to achieve strong performance and superb acoustics. The NH-D9’s direction of airflow is parallel to the long axis of the socket, so it is ideal for builds where the hot air is exhausted this way. Topped off with the pre-applied NT-H2 thermal compound as well as the professional SecuFirm2™ mounting system for TR5/SP6 that has been updated to meet the platform’s increased pressure specifications, the NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U forms a complete premium quality package for quietly cooling TR5-based Threadripper workstations and SP6-based Epyc servers in 4U cases.

Proven heatsinks for AMD Threadripper & Epyc

Enlarged contact surface
At 70x56mm, the heatsink’s copper contact surface is more than double the size of the standard desktop model. Tailored to fit the enormous integrated heat-spreaders (IHS) of AMD’s TR5/SP6 based processors, this customised design allows for an optimal heat flow from the CPU over the base to the heatpipes and on to the cooling fins.

Compact 92mm size for best compatibility
Thanks to its compact footprint (95x95mm with centre fan only, second fan can be installed on either side depending on available space) and a total height of only 134mm, the NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U provides excellent PCIe compatibility and is small enough to fit most 4U size rack-mount enclosures.

Airflow parallel to long axis of the socket
The NH-D9’s direction of airflow is parallel to the long axis of the TR5/SP6 socket, so it is ideal for systems where the exhaust fans of the chassis are in this direction. For systems that require the airflow to go perpendicular to the long axis of the socket, please choose the NH-U14S TR5-SP6 or adapt NH-U12S DX-4677 and NH-U9 DX-4677 coolers using the NM-TR5-SP6 kit.

Dual NF-A9 HS-PWM fans
The NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U is equipped with two of Noctua’s award-winning NF-A9 PWM 92mm fans in their high-speed 2500rpm HS-PWM variant. This push/pull dual fan configuration makes it possible to achieve a level of cooling performance that is remarkable for such a compact cooler.

PWM Unterstützung und Y-Kabel
The NF-A9 premium fans supplied with the NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the motherboard, which allows them to run near silent at lighter loads and to speed up only when necessary. The supplied splitter cable makes it possible to power and control both fans simultaneously from a single motherboard fan header.

SecuFirm2™ mounting for TR5-SP6
The NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U combines the proven basis of the DX model with new mounting brackets for AMD’s TR5/SP6 socket (sTRX5/sWRX9). Installation is just as easy as with the previous TR4-SP3 models: Put on the heatsink, fix the four spring-loaded Allen key screws using the supplied tool and you’re done!
